Iran’s Road Minister arrives in Pakistan for a three-day visit

IRNA -- Iran's Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Pakistan on Thursday on a three-day official visit for talks with the country’s officials.

Senior officials of Pakistan’s ministry for Ports and Shipping and Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost welcomed the Iranian delegation upon its arrival at Islamabad International Airport.

During his stay in Islamabad, Abbas Akhundi will hold meetings with Pakistan’s Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo and Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique.

In addition, the Iranian road minister will also hold joint press conference with Pakistan’s Minister for Ports and Shipping in Islamabad.

Akhoundi will leave for Karachi on Friday along with his delegation. During his stay over there he will also pay a visit to the mausoleum of the founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Quaid-e-Azam). He will also visit Gwadar and Karachi ports.

Iran's Minister of Road and Urban Development will arrive in Lahore on Saturday, where he will visit historical places along with a visit to mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
