An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted southern Iran at 2244 GMT on Thursday ( 0644 Beijing Time on Friday), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 9.80 km, was initially determined to be at 27.2095 degrees northlatitude and 53.6110 degrees east longitude.
