IRNA – The claim that Nazanin Zaghari was a victim of arms agreement between Iran and the UK is a baseless allegation, the spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Monday.


'Ms. Zaghari's case does not have to do with Iran's Foreign Ministry and the country's ties with the United Kingdom,' Bahram Qasemi said in a press conference.

She has been imprisoned for clear offenses, and the Foreign Ministry cannot intervene the case due to principle of the separation of powers, he said.

'The claim that Ms. Zaghari is a hostage of Iran and British firms' financial relations is untrue, that might be resulted from a lack of understanding on the two countries' relations, and even Iran's internal and judicial system,' he said.
