president.ir- President Rouhani had a phone call with the chief commander of Law Enforcement Force of Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Ashtari, and expressed condolences over the martyrdom of sincere, devoted police officers in the recent unrest, appreciating powerful, wise management by security forces, especially the police, for protecting the country's security.

In the phone call that was made on Wednesday, Dr Hassan Rouhani also said: "Violent, insulting actions and behaviour against the police, who are the protectors of order and security in the society, must not be tolerated at all".

The president also stressed the need to pay attention to the great families of the martyrs, emphasising a decisive response to the perpetrators of the breach of public order.
