Hundreds apply to compete in Iran intl. film event

Press TV- Hundreds have applied to compete in the 36th edition of Iran’s yearly Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF), which is to be held in the Islamic Republic in April.


The event is to start in the capital, Tehran, on April 19 and last until April 27.

The event’s official website has announced that so far, more than 600 filmmakers have applied to take part in the festival from 35 different countries. As many as 300 of the entries are feature films, it added.

The event is held by Farabi Cinema Foundation, an executive arm of the country’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

The FIFF has been taking submissions since November 1, 2017. The entry deadline is March 1.

The country is now busy holding the festival’s domestic edition.

The Fajr Film Festival started out on February 1 and is to wrap up on Sunday.
