Turkey not to end Iran oil imports: Erdogan

Turkish PM says no decision yet on further Iran oil import cuts
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday Turkey had already significantly reduced its oil imports from Iran, which is under the choke of Western sanctions, and further cutbacks would depend on his country’s energy needs. “On crude oil, there has been a significant decrease in the amount of oil we import from Iran … As to whether we would cut back any further, it will depend on our need. Time will tell,” Erdogan said at the Brookings Institution in Washington.

 
Iran, Bangladesh to triple mutual trade in 3 years: Iranian minister
Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari says Iran and Bangladesh have agreed to triple bilateral trade over the next three years. “It was decided that the current USD 100-million trade volume increase two- to three-fold in the next three years,” said the minister upon his return from a visit to Bangladesh on Friday.

 
5.7-magnitude earthquake hits southern Iran
An earthquake measuring 5.7- magnitude on the Richter scale hit Goharan in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province on Saturday at 14:33 local time (GMT 1003), according to Iranian Seismological Center. The epicenter, with a depth of 8 km, was initially determined to be at 26.74 degrees north latitude and 58.74 degrees east longitude.

 
Iranian president to visit Moscow
Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad is expected to visit Russia in July to attend the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), a spokesman for Iran’s Embassy in Moscow said on Saturday. The Iranian leader has accepted Russia’s invitation to attend the event. “Now we are working on this visit, but the final decision has yet to be made,” the spokesman told RIA Novosti.
