Yemen missile strike on Riyadh nothing to do with Iran

23 Dec 2017 - 10:32

MNA – Parliament Speaker Special Aide on International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian reiterated that Yemen's missile strike to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh has nothing to do with Iran.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remark in his meeting with Political director of Lebanon's Amal Movement Khalil Hamdan on Friday.

Pointing to the scenario orchestrated by the US Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley with regard to Yemen's missile strike to Riyadh, Amir-Abdollahian said “United States' UN envoy’s remarks are sheer lie, since these missiles have nothing to do with the Islamic Republic of Iran at all.”

The two sides exchanged their views on the regional developments as well.

For his part, Khalil Hamdan pointed to the history of establishment of Amal Movement in Lebanon saying, “the Movement in Lebanon was founded by the distinguished political figures, including martyred Dr. Mostafa Chamran and Imam Musa Sadr with the aim of spreading justice and dissemination of culture of resistance.”

The issue of al-Quds and unwise decision of US President Donald Trump with regard to the relocation of US Embassy to al-Quds are currently considered as the most important developments of Islamic community, he maintained.

Amir-Abdollahian called on all leaders in the Islamic world to establish unity and amity with one another in order to thwart malicious plots of the US in recognition of al-Quds as the capital of Israeli regime.

Lebanese government and Parliament coupled with the noble people of this country unanimously condemn Trump’s heinous move and place special emphasis on resisting against it, Hamdan maintained.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed to the salient status of Lebanese Amal Movement in advancing objectives of the resistance movement in the region adding, the status of Amal Movement in Iran has been intermingled with the status of its founders and with the name of resistance.”

Turning to the key role of Imam Musa Sadr as one of the leading figures in the field of resistance, who enjoys a privileged position and personality in the Muslim world, he said “we hope that the efforts to determine his fate will have positive and promising outcome.”

Amir-Abdollahian expressed his special thanks to the wise leadership of Lebanese Resistance Movement Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah in spread of stability in Lebanon.

Regarding the baseless remarks of US ambassador to UN, Amir-Abdollahian said “instead of being held responsible for selling weapons of mass destructions to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, the united States tries to disturb public opinions over al-Quds case.”

“By spreading such allegations, the United States is seeking an excuse for intervening in Iran’s defensive programs. However, US should know that Iran’s missile program is within the framework of international rules and regulations which is not negotiable,” he concluded.
