Regional talks best solution to crises: Mehmanparast

11 May 2013 - 14:53

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast says regional dialog can best help settle regional crises and keep foreign interference at bay.
“We believe that regional consultations and cooperation can be the best solution to the crises in the region,” Mehmanparast said on Saturday.

“Also, dialog among regional countries can remove any grounds for meddling by trans-regional countries,” the Iranian spokesman added.

He also announced that Qatari Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani will pay an official visit to Tehran this week at the invitation of Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.

Mehmanparast noted that the exchange of visits among regional officials is very important under the current circumstances, when consultations can play a key role in bridging differences of views.

He also stressed the importance of paying heed to important issues to prevent insecurity and instability in the sensitive Middle East and the Persian Gulf regions.
