Iran, Lebanon discuss cooperation on transportation

IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali discussed bilateral issues, regional developments with the country’s Minister of Public Works and Transport Yousuf Fenyanous on Friday.


During the meeting held in Fenyanous’ office in Beirut, the two officials explored avenues for promoting cooperation, particularly in the fields of transportation and road construction.

After the meeting, the Iranian ambassador evaluated his talks with the Lebanese minister as “useful” and in line with boosting mutual collaboration.

Referring to recent achievements of the Lebanese Army in the fight against terrorist groups in east of Lebanon, Fathali said that Takfiri terrorism and Zionist terrorism are targeting regional nations and governments and it mandates all regional states to stand united to uproot Takfiri terrorism which is rooted in Zionist terrorism.

On the eve of a visit to Iran by the Lebanese President Michel Aoun, officials of both countries are trying to prepare documents pertaining to the agreements and memoranda of understanding scheduled to be signed during the top-ranking official’s visit to Tehran.
