No permission to abuse intl. regulations for shortsighted political intentions

MNA – Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations issued a statement on Thursday reacting to the US pressures on IAEA.

“The US permanent representative’s visit to Vienna with the objective to exert pressure on IAEA in terms of Iran’s nuclear program is in line with the unilateral measures of the US against international organizations,” reads the communiqué issued by the permanent mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations.

The announcement says that questioning the professional procedures of the IAEA to get familiar with its functions is OK for those who are not knowledgeable about the past records but claiming that Iran is not giving access to IAEA’s inspectors and not paying attention to the past verifying reports of the Agency that Iran has been bound with its commitments is a clear show of negligence about the rudimentary issues of this field and the routines in international organizations.

The document asserts that the logic used by US permanent rep. to the UN in regards with resolution 2231 and misinterpreting it is another demonstration of lack of knowledge about international entities.

It says that natural it would be impossible to interact with international organization with a unilateral approach and leveraging pressure to make wrong decisions.

The press release asserts that this way would lead to more isolation of the US in the international community.
