Iran expresses readiness to help reconstruct Iraq

Baghdad, Aug 2, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi and Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabouri in a meeting have explored ways to prepare the ground for Iran's engagement in reconstruction of Iraq in post-Daesh era.



 Iraqi officials and people especially those living in regions liberated from the Daesh (ISIS) have repeatedly expressed their eagernessn for Iran's participation in reconstruction of the cities in the country ruined by the Takfiri terrorists.

Iranian governmental and private sectors in the country are ready to stand by Iraqi people in the same way they did to fight terrorism, and help the country reconstruct itself, Masjedi said.

During the meeting, both sides held talks on bilateral ties and also on al-Jabouri's participation in President Hassan Rouhani's oath-taking ceremony scheduled to be held on August 5 in Tehran.

Iraqi President Fuad Masum, Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar Hakim and the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabouri are expected to take part in the event.
