Israeli Police attack journalists outside Al-Aqsa

26 Jul 2017 - 17:18

FNA- Israeli police Wednesday attacked journalists who were covering the continuing events at Bab al-Asbat Gate outside al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

The police also ordered the journalists to leave Bab al-Asbat area, where a sit-in been going on for 12 days by about 3,000 Palestinian protesters against the backdrop of Israel’s recent measures in al-Aqsa, including the installation of surveillance cameras, WAFA reported.

Israeli police forces attacked the protesters with teargas canisters and stun grenades in an attempt to disperse them last night, and right after the night prayers.

Dozens were injured, including with rubber-coated steel rounds, and were moved to hospital for medical treatment. The sit-in was then dispersed.

The protesters, however, were able to manage to get back to the area to organize another sit-in, demanding that Israel goes back on all the measures it has taken since July 14.
