IRNA – Visiting Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab- African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari on Wednesday discussed issues of mutual interest with the Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis.


Iranian deputy foreign minister and the Syrian prime minister reviewed also the latest regional development including Syria.

Prior to his meeting with the Syrian prime minister, Jaberi-Ansari conferred with the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem here on Wednesday.

Jaberi-Ansari arrived in Damascus on Tuesday evening for an official two-day visit in which he would attend the 5th joint political committee meeting of the two states.

He also met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Syria Faisal Mekdad on Wednesday morning.

Jaberi-Ansari travelled to Damascus last January and during the visit, met with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the country’s prime minister and deputy foreign minister.
