IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi-Ansari conferred with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem here on Wednesday.

Jaberi Ansari arrived in Damascus on Tuesday evening to attend the 5th joint political committee meeting and consider the latest developments in the region and bilateral cooperation with Syria.

He also met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Syria Faisal Mekdad on Wednesday morning.

Jaberi-Ansari is scheduled to meet and discuss issues of mutual interest with a number of Syrian senior officials.

He travelled to Damascus last January and during the visit, Jaberi-Ansari met with President Bashar al-Assad, Prime Minister Imad Khamis and Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and discussed Syria developments and exchanged views on regional developments as well.
