FM discusses issues of mutual interest with Mauritanian president

IRNA -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday morning discussed bilateral ties and latest regional developments with President of Mauritania Mohammad Ould Abdul Aziz.


Zarif and Abdul Aziz explored avenues for development and deepening of bilateral ties in all fields, including politics and economy.

The two officials discussed latest regional developments and underlined peaceful resolution of rift among countries through dialogue.

Iran’s foreign minister arrived in Mauritania’s capital, Nouakchott, on Monday morning to talk with the country’s officials.

After holding talks with high ranking Algerian officials, Zarif left Algiers Sunday morning for Mauritania.

He arrived in Algeria on Sunday afternoon and met with the country’s Prime Minister Abdelmajid Tebboune and some other senior officials.

Iran’s Foreign Minister will visit Tunisia today after leaving Mauritania to meet and talk with Tunisian officials.

He departed Tehran on Sunday morning for a two-day visit to the three North African countries.
