19 Jun 2017 - 11:54

June 19, The Iran Project – An Iranian parliamentarian says Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps missile attacks at terrorist hideouts in Syria conveyed a message to the states sponsors of terrorism, mainly Saudi Arabia and the US, to go out of the region.

Referring to IRGC’s missile strikes targeting DaeshTakfiris' headquarters in Syria’s Dayr al-Zawr in retaliation for the recent terror attacks in Tehran, Javad Karimi Ghodoosi, a member of Iran’s Majlis said Iran’s missile attacks was a response to the anti-Iran claims and policies President Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud adopted in the Arabic Islamic American Summit in Riyadh.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of Iran's Foreign Policy and the National Security Committee also noted that the IRGC’s retaliatory move showed the authority of the Islamic Republic and was a new phase in the fight against terrorism in the region.

In addition to being a fatal blow to Daesh Takfiris' headquarters in Syria, the missile attack can be considered a serious warning to all the supporters of terrorism in the region and beyond, Boroujerdi added.

Iran’s IRGC’s anti-ISIS operation had an obvious message for the supporters of Takfiri terrorists, including Saudi Arabia that Islamic Republic will retaliate in like manner on anyone else carrying out attacks in Iran, stressed another Iranian lawmaker, Amir Khojasteh.

An Iranian MP Alireza Rahimi also said Iran’s missile strike at ISIS positions was an example of the IRGC’s defensive capabilities that is not only ready to fight against terrorism, but is fully prepared to protect  the country’s territorial integrity.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC )announced on Sunday that  medium-range ground-to-ground missiles were launched from Iran’s western provinces of Kermanshah and Kordestan in response to the recent Daesh-claimed terror attacks in Tehran, which killed 18 people and injured 50 more.

On June 7, gunmen mounted almost simultaneous assaults on Iran’s Parliament and the Mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.

The Daesh Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the assaults. Iran has arrested dozens of terrorists since the Tehran attacks.
