Iran, Ukraine discuss parliamentary ties

IRNA – Iranian and Ukrainian officials in a meeting reviewed relations in different fields including cooperation between both countries’ parliamentarians.

The meeting was held on Saturday with the attendance of member of agricultural commission of Iran’s Majlis (parliament) Kazem Nasab al-baji, Head of parliamentary friendship group of Ukraine and Iran Leonid Kozachenko and Iranian ambassador to Ukraine Mohammad Beheshti Monfared in Kiev.

Addressing the meeting, Kozachenko pointed to historical backgrounds and cultural commonalities in bilateral relations urging continuation of cooperation in all fields.

He also referred to Iran-Ukraine sixth joint economic cooperation commission meeting’s achievements, describing current relations as effective in continuation of economic and trade ties.

At the end of the meeting, Iranian Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati and Ukraine Minister of Energy and Coal Mining Ihor Nasalyk signed an MoU.

The MoU aimed at developing cooperation in agricultural, investment, financial, trade, chambers of commerce, industrial, mineral, steelmaking, machinery, geology, banking, oil and gas, petrochemicals, transportation, tourism, hygiene, sports and the youth, communication and engineering consultation services.

The meeting was held in line with Iranian delegation’s four-day trip to Ukraine.

Iranian delegation consisting of representatives of different bodies, private sector and a group from Chamber of Commerce negotiated with Ukrainian counterparts on boosting economic and industrial cooperation.
