US Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday offered condolences to the families of those who were killed in Tuesday’s earthquake in southeastern Iran and western Pakistan.
“The United States sends our deepest condolences for those lost in the earthquake in southeastern Iran and western Pakistan today.  Our thoughts are with the families of those who were killed, those who were injured, and with those communities that have suffered damage to homes and property. We stand ready to offer assistance in this difficult time,” a statement released by the US Embassy in Islamabad quoted him as saying.
A powerful earthquake struck a border area of southeast Iran on Tuesday killing at least 35 people in neighbouring Pakistan, destroying hundreds of houses and shaking buildings as far away as India and Gulf Arab states.
