Iran’s MERC signs scientific MoU with China

MNA– Iran’s Institute of Materials and Energy (MERC) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) signed an MoU on closer scientific cooperation.


The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Hadavi, the head of MERC, and president of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Tan Tianwei.

The MoU includes cooperation on joint international projects, student and professor exchange programs, holding workshops and joint international seminars on advanced materials and renewable energies, as well as joint cooperation on technology commercialization and production of knowledge-based products.

Established in 1971, Iran’s Institute of Materials and Energy (MERC) started its research activities in the fields of Materials Engineering, Renewable Energies, Semiconductor Technologies and Environmental Issues. With 80 faculty members and highly advanced laboratories, MERC has developed extensive collaborations with national and international universities and industrial research institutes in recent years.

Founded in 1958, Beijing University of Chemical Technology is one of the most prestigious multidisciplinary universities in China that has made considerable strides in the core fields of science and technology as well as integrating the academic disciplines of management, economics, law, the liberal arts, education and medicine.
