Ex -ICRC official hails Iranians' desire for humanitarian activities

November 29, The Iran Project - Former head of the ICRC's mission in Iran, Olivier Martin said on Tuesday that West media do not reflect the realities of Iran to the world, praising Iranian people's desire for doing humanitarian activities.

Close cooperation between the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is one of the achievements of his mission, said Olivier Martin at the end of his three-year mission in Tehran.

Martin also appreciated the valuable cooperation of Iranian officials with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Emphasizing on Iran’s unique capacity to promote cooperation with the International Red Cross Movement, he added that the Iranian’s willingness to progress has facilitated the cooperation process.

Speaking about Iranian people features, he referred to their interest in learning and training and doing humanitarian activities.

He also pointed to cultural differences and good humour as the other unique features of the Iranian people.

Answering the question what do you think of Iran, he replied I have said to my friends that if you want to know Iran’s realities, you should travel to the country.

Finally, he added that Iran is a remarkable country where I like to live or travel as a tourist.
