MFA ready to boost economic ties with S Africa

MNA– Iran’s Deputy FM Jaberi Ansari said Foreign Ministry has the readiness to expand Iran’s trade and economic ties with South Africa.


South African trade delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga and Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises Bulelani Gratitude Magwanishe, held meeting witn Hossein jaberi Ansari, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs in Tehran on Thursday.

The delegation, who is visiting Iran to follow up the agreements made during the 12th session of Joint Economic Commission, briefed Jaberi Ansari with latest developments regarding the technical talks between Iran and South African on aerial and maritime transportation and emphasized on providing more opportunities for expansion of trade and economic ties.

Iranian diplomat, for his part, underlined that the recent visit by South African President Jacob Zuma and the upcoming visit to the African country by President Hassan Rouhani indicates opening of a new chapter in Tehran and Cape Town ties and their political will in this regard; “it is our duty to follow up the agreements and their implementation process.”

Welcoming the exchange of technical delegations and experts, Jaberi Ansari underlined the vital role of deputy foreign ministers in directing the cooperation, adding “Foreign Ministry is ready to help expansion of ties regarding all economic fields.
