November 22, The Iran Project – Iran’s ambassador to Indonesia asks for the development of banking relations with Indonesia to facilitate economic cooperation, stressing that Islamic Republic, comparing to other Middle East countries, is safer for trade and investment.

In a meeting attended by Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice-Chairman of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, and a number of representatives of  public and private companies in Jakarta, Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi described Iran and Indonesia’s advantages to develop bilateral cooperation.

Since the removal of international sanctions against Iran, numerous foreign political and economic delegations have travelled to Iran so there is no obstacle for other countries to trade with the Islamic Republic, Mohammadi Nasrabadi noted.

He also urged Indonesia to use this opportunity for strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Calling Iran-Indonesia’s economies, complementary, Iran’s ambassador stressed the development of the two countries’ banking relations to facilitate bilateral economic activities.

Rudy Rajab, the president of Iran-Indonesia Trade Commission, also announced in the meeting that Indonesia is going to send a large economic delegation accompanying the Indonesian president to Tehran.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo is scheduled to arrive at Tehran on December, heading a high ranking politico-economic delegation, to develop the two countries’ cooperation.
