Iran expands academic coop. with China, Indonesia

MNA– Two high-ranking academic delegations from Indonesia and China have arrived in Tehran for expansion of bilateral ties, Iranian Deputy Minister of Science Hossein Salar Amoli said Tuesday.


Hossein Salar Amoli told Mehr News on Tuesday that a high-ranking delegation from Jakarta State University of Indonesia has arrived in Tehran this morning. He maintained that Indonesia with 260 million Muslims is the largest Muslim country in the world and establishing scientific interactions with the country’s universities is of high significance to Iran.

According to Salar Amoli, the Indonesian delegation is scheduled to pay a visit to University of Tehran and Shahid Beheshti University, as well as a number of other universities in Tehran.

“Also, another high-ranking delegation from China’s Ministry of Education is currently in Iran and I will hold talks with them this afternoon,” the Iranian Deputy Minister of Science for International Affairs said.

He noted that China’s Ministry of Education covers about 200 million students and is considered one of the largest ministries in the world.

“Given the strategic significance of China to Iran, today we will plan a proper platfrom for expanding bilateral cooperation in scientific and educational fields,” he said.
