IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei received a number of students on Sunday, marking Arbaeen anniversary.
Students from four corners of Iran were present in the meeting, held at late Imam Khomeini's Hosseinieh.
Arbaeen, falling on November 20 this year, is a Shiia Muslim religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the third Imam of Shiia Muslims.
At the end of the ceremony, the Supreme Leader led the noon and afternoon congregational prayers.
