18 Oct 2016 - 14:04

TEHRAN (FNA)- Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif called for the broadening of economic and banking cooperation with Luxembourg.

"The economies of Iran and Luxembourg complement each other," Seif said in a meeting with Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider in Luxembourg on Monday.

Seif underlined that deepening of banking cooperation between Iran and Luxembourg is necessary for the two countries to strengthen their economic relations.

In relevant remarks in January, Luxembourg Parliament Speaker Mars Di Bartolomeo called for the expansion of mutual cooperation with Iran, specially in the economic fields.

"Luxembourg deems enhancement of bilateral ties with Tehran as very important," Bartolomeo said in a meeting with Iran's Fars Governor General Seyed Mohammad Ali Afshani in the city of Shiraz.

He pointed to the nuclear agreement reached between Tehran and the six world powers (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) in Vienna on July 14, and said, "We are more hopeful be able to increase our cooperation with Iran after the deal and we will try to accelerate the process."

He reiterated the world today is in fact a global village and all countries need to establish relations with each other.
