Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani's recent Southeast Asia tour is in line with the policies formulated by the Supreme Leader, says the head of Iran's Center for Strategic Research.


President Rouhani's trip to Southeast Asian countries is in line with implementing the look east policy set by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said Ali Akbar Velayati on Thursday, folowing his meeting with the Syrian businessmen.

'President Rouhani's visits to Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand were very important,' Velayati said.

Based on the policies set by the Leader regarding adopting a look east policy, we all need to pay heed to the issue, he said.

A look east policy requires development of ties with nations in Asia, the head of Center for Strategic Research said.

'This is why the recent visits by the Iranian President to Asian countries should be regarded as beneficial.'
