October 4, The Iran Project – Iran’s Vice President of Student Affairs in the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education with the Deputy President of Turkish Higher Education System.

In a meeting with Hasan Mandal, Deputy President of Turkish Higher Education System on Tuesday, Dr. Hasan Riazee stressed Iran’s effort to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields including exchange of professors and students of higher education, technology transfer, academic and scientific cooperation between universities and using the two countries’ capacities in graduate courses, saying that these agreements can be considered a road map for further mutual cooperation.

Dr. Mandal also referred to the more than five thousand Iranian students studying in Turkish universities and said Iranian students ranked fourth among foreign students studying in Turkey, and ranked first in doctoral programs.

Turkey’s Higher Education Council pays special attention to the development of scientific and educational ties with Iran, he stated, adding Turkey is ready to implement the agreements.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani visited Ankara in April at the invitation of Erdogan and signed eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)  to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas including higher education, social security, plant maintenance services and standardization.

The two neighboring countries signed an agreement for collaborations between Iran’s University of Judicial Sciences and Turkey’s Justice Academy.
