Iran, Cuba ink MoU for health cooperation

Havana, Sept 20, IRNA - Tehran and Havana inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to promote bilateral cooperation on medical and pharmaceutical activities.

The document was signed between Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) and Cuba's Ministry of Public Health in a ceremony also attended by visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.

President Rouhani arrived in Havan Monday afternoon local time (early Tuesday morning in Tehran) for a two-day visit.

So far, Iranian President has held separate meetings with his Cuban counterpart and the former Cuban president and revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.

President Rouhani flew to Cuba from Venezuela where he attended and addressed the 17th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement on September 17-18.

At the end of his visit to Cuba, President Rouhani is leave for New York to participate in the 71st Regular Session of the UN General Assembly due to begin at UN Headquarters on Tuesday.
