TEHRAN, Sep. 01 (MNA) – The second meeting of foreign ministry general managers of Iran, Afghanistan, and India was held on Wednesday in Tehran.

The regional issues of interest, recent regional developments and trilateral cooperation in areas of politics, economy, transit, and culture, were discussed by the general managers at the foreign ministries of Iran, Afghanistan, and India, at the second meeting of the GMs in Tehran on Wednesday, according to the press release of the second meeting of foreign ministry general managers of Iran, Afghanistan, and India, issued on Thursday.

The latest developments in the region and Afghanistan were discussed by the diplomats from Iran, Afghanistan, and India and all three sides agreed to expand joint efforts on fight with terrorism and extremism.

About the recent agreement on developing a transit route from India, to Iran’s Chabahar Port and Afghanistan, the diplomats agreed to let experts and trade and industry representatives examine the issue at specialized seminars, for more preparation and more thorough discussion at the third convention of the trilateral meeting in Kabul.

Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process was another area of discussion between the GMs of foreign ministries of Iran, Afghanistan, and India.

The first round of the meeting was held in New Delhi in June.
