TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team edged past Saba in Iran Professional League (IPL) Week 4th on Thursday.


Mehdi Taremi scored the only goal of the match in the 40th minute.

Elsewhere, Tractor Sazi beat Machin Sazi 2-0 in Tabriz derby thanks to a brace from Mohammad Iranpourian.

Esteghlal of Tehran was held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Paykan.

Zobahan drew with Gostaresh Foolad 1-1, Sanat Naft Abadan beat Sepahan 1-0, holder Esteghlal Khuzestan was held to a 2-2 draw with Naft Tehran and Saipa drew with Padideh 1-1.

Persepolis remained top of the table with 10 points, followed by Tractor Sazi and Sanat Naft Abadan with eight points.
