Orumiyeh, West Azarbaijan prov, Aug 10, IRNA – A provincial official here on Wednesday rejected the rumours of 6 executions in this northwestern country province.


Talking to IRNA, Managing Director of West Azarbaijan province’s prisons Ali Jalili said no executions of inmates have taken place in provincial jails in recent days.

He said the news of the alleged executions was circulated by foreign media as part of a propaganda ploy.

Recently, a number of foreign media and organizations claiming supporting human rights issues reported that 6 inmates were executed in Orumiyeh prison. They said the executions happened on Tuesday.
