Iran cleric urges Pakistan to accept Shia legitimate demands

7 Aug 2016 - 18:36

August 7, The Iran Project – Senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi has asked Pakistan government to accept legitimate demands of top Pakistani Shia leader and other Pakistani Muslims, especially Shias.

Releasing a message on Sunday, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said it is highly unlikely that the Pakistan government does not care about the rights of citizenship, stressing that Pakistan leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri and other Pakistani Muslims want nothing but security and realization of the followers of religions rights.

Top Pakistani Shia leader and Secretary General of Majlis Wahdat ul Muslimeen (MWM), Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, has gone on a 85-day-long hunger strike against the atrocities faced by the Shia nation at the hands of militants and the current regime, demanding to "Rid Pakistan of Militancy".

So far he has already lost his weight due this strike and suffers with heart problems and diabetes.

Grand Ayatollah also asked Allama Jafri to end hunger strike over physical deterioration, saying your measure has been positively reflected in many parts of the world.

Clerics and politicians across the world have tried to take him off his strike, yet he utters “his cause is greater”, the nations’ demands need addressing.
