1 Aug 2016 - 22:22

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Commander of Iranian Army Ground Force Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said that two Iranians who had already joined the ISIL terrorist group were killed in last year’s conflicts.

The ISIL had attracted a number of its members from Qasre-Shirin and Naft-Shahr cities, western Iran, he said.

They recruited individuals from inside the country and from Naft-Shahr and Qasre-Shirin cities and western districts, he said, adding they were doing operations in these regions.

Two of the recruited individuals were killed last March during conflicts we had with them in these districts, Pour-Dastan said.

He said that presence of Iranian armed forces and the ground forces caused preventing measures of the terrorist group.

The Iranian commander said that the ISIL is still a threat we are facing, adding, it can be still traced in Diyala Province, eastern Iraq, bordering Kermanshah and Ilam provinces of Iran.
