VP hopes that extremism in region to be uprooted by int'l will

Tehran, July 11, IRNA – First vice-president said he hoped that with the help of an international will which has been shaped, people of the region could get rid of the extremist groups.

Eshaq Jahangiri made the remarks Monday at a joint press conference here with visiting Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

The press conference was held after the signing ceremony of three agreements on cooperation between the two countries.

Jahangiri said he held talks with Borissov on important regional developments including terrorism and extremism as well as ways to fight against terrorist groups.

Iranians and Bulgarians enjoy many historical commonalities, said Jahangiri, adding the two have had good level of relations in the past.

In the sanctions era, relations between the two decreased, but today officials of both nations are determined to develop bilateral cooperation, Jahangiri stressed.

Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted on January 16, 2016.

About his talks with the Bulgarian premier, Jahangiri said oil, gas, petrochemicals, industry and agriculture have been among issues of mutual interests.

Jahangiri further referred to three agreements on cooperation that were signed between the two countries this morning to facilitate fostering relations.
