Commander: No letup in enmities toward Iran

3 Jul 2016 - 14:50

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hostile moves against Iran are by no means over, a ranking military official said, noting that anti-Iran plots continue to take new shapes.

Addressing a cultural ceremony in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz, Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said hostilities against Iran have been in place since the victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The enemies are still pursuing their objectives by shifting the plots from military encounter to sanctions, soft war and economic plots, the general warned.

Proportional to the circumstances and Iran’s capabilities, the enemies constantly change the nature of their hostile moves, he added.

Back in November 2015, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also made it clear that there has been no slackening off in US hostility towards Iran.

“The fact is that there has been no change in the US objectives about the Islamic Republic of Iran, and if they (Americans) were able to destroy the Islamic Republic, they would not hesitate a moment,” the Leader underlined.
