Tehran, June 5, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday communicated with the Interior Ministry and the Justice Ministry to implement the political crime law.

The government had delivered a bill to the Parliament which defined political law.

The bill was passed by the Parliament on May 9 and was made to law after the Guardian Council approved the legislation.

The legislation envisaged due respect for the political prisoners and distinction between the political prisoners and those passing prison terms for other crimes.

From now on, the political prisoners will be kept separate from the other criminals with respect for their privacy.

The political prisoners will not be required by the prison officials to wear the uniforms the other criminals do.

Observers welcomed the legislation in line with regulating the government's conduct of the citizens and the constitutional obligation to respect the individual rights.

The President possessing International Law Doctorate promised to regulate the government's conduct of the citizens in line with the Constitutional privisions and abide by law in treatment of the prisoners and respect for decency of the individuals.
