Foreigners welcomed in Iran’s machine making industry

TEHRAN, Jun. 01 (MNA) – An official at Ministry of Industry has announced provision of opportunities for prominent foreign companies to participate in Iran’s machine manufacturing industry.


Director General of Machine Manufacturing and Equipment Office at Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Amir Hossein Shiravi pointed to existence of proper grounds for trade and communication between Iranian and foreign parties saying “domestic industries are able to take the provided opportunity in order to become familiar with modern technologies as well as to negotiate with foreign counterparts.”

“The country requires advancements in metalworking and machine manufacturing in order to compensate for the lag during sanction years,” he added.

“Over the past few years, Iranian companies have had to communicate with the world’s grade-2 or 3 firms while the presence of German’s in the country marks a great advantage,” highlighted the official maintaining “Iran greatly welcomes the return of European and German companies to the country especially if they can launch joint venture with domestic firms.”

Shiravi went on to stress that the Iranian government would fully support Iranian manufacturers in this regard though they need to conduct face-to-face talks with foreign sides before reaching an agreement; “Iran possesses great potentials in metalworking and machine making industries including large and active firms in the field, skilled human resources as well as higher security than other regional states.”

“At least 10 to 12 eminent companies are currently active in the metalworking and machine making industry,” emphasized Shiravi urging local manufacturers to boost production as well as to make export plans.”

The official at ministry of industries affairs deputy department also invited foreign companies to concentrate a portion of their production inside Iran with the aim of exporting to regional countries.

“Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade is after encouraging local and foreign companies to launch joint ventures by removing barriers to cooperation in addition to providing them with facilities,” said the Shiravi adding “accordingly, we have made plans to introduce manufacturers to banks and financial and credit institutions as well as to remove export obstacles.”
