TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran won the title of the 2016 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup on Friday.
In the competitions held at the Dastgheyb Venue in Shiraz, Iran, the host defeated Russia 8-0 in the final match and won the title.
Iran also defeated Ukraine (8-0), Azerbaijan (7-1), and Turkey (7-1) in the competition.
The event brought eight teams Iran, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine and Azerbaijan together.
Turkey came third after beating Kazakhstan 5-3 in the bronze medal match.
