Iran minister confers with Azeri president on agriculture cooperation

Baku, May 15, IRNA – Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati conferred on Sunday with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev on expansion of mutual relations and cooperation.


President Aliyev said that he was pleased with expansion of all-out relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Political leaders of Azerbaijan and Iran spare no efforts to broaden relation between the two nations, President Aliyev said.

Agriculture plays prominent role in the economic sector, said the Azeri president adding that agriculture development will lead to expansion of cooperation in other sectors.

Republic of Azerbaijan takes significant measures to broaden economic activities and meet the country's food security, he said.

He expressed the hope that the current visit of the Iranian minister and his entourage will lead to fruitful talks in line with the implementation of joint venture investment projects.

The Iranian minister for his part conveyed the greetings of President Hassan Rouhani to Azeri president.

The Islamic Republic of Iran did its best to bolster relations between the two countries in recent years, he said.

The two sides exchanged views on investment in agricultural sector and the joint venture investment projects.

In response to the greetings of President Rouhani, the Azeri president conveyed his warm greetings to his Iranian counterpart.
