Iranian taekwondoka wins gold at Fajr Open

TEHRAN, May 08 (MNA) – Iran’s Mohammad Kazemi has managed to claim the title at 27th Fajr Open in Tehran.


Held in 4 weight categories, the G-1 Tournament has brought together almost 50 representatives of Iran, Armenia, Brazil, India, Iraq, Libya, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Afghanistan.

Mohammad Kazemi of Iran managed to come first in -58kg weight group followed by the Afghan rival who stood on the second podium.

Meanwhile, Yousif Ben Shariha of Libya and Iran’s other representative Hadi Tiranvalipour jointly received the bronze medal.

Also in -80kg weight group, the Russian taekwondo practitioner became the champion while Amir Hoseein Sasan of Iran won the silver medal followed by Iran’s Vahid Isabiglo as well as Pourian Erfanian who bagged bronze.

Competitors at -68 and +80kg categories will meet rivals today on the second day of the tournament on Sunday May 08.

Gold, Silver and Bronze winners of 27th Fajr Open can add 10, 6 and 3.6 points, respectivelyto the ranking of participating athletes.

The 27th Fajr Open is underway from 6-8 May 2016 in Taekwondo House, Tehran.
