25 Apr 2016 - 16:40

TEHRAN (FNA)- Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki announced his country's intention to inaugurate an embassy in Tehran in the near future.

"We want to open our embassy in Iran soon," Poposki said in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Monday.

Describing his talks with Zarif and President Hassan Rouhani as good and transparent, he said, "The two countries' businesspersons should be in contact with each other since there are high opportunities for the expansion of ties."

Poposki, who is heading a large delegation of Macedonian tradespersons during his Iran visit, said that he and the Iranian officials also discussed regional developments and the challenges in the Balkans.

Referring to the crises in Syria and Iraq, he underlined that they don’t have any military solution and should be settled peacefully.

After the nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers in July, many high-ranking delegations from the European countries and other world states have visited Iran to further expand bilateral ties.

Their talks also included the Syrian crisis and refugees, cooperation to establish peace and end clashes, and Iran's plan for the settlement of the crisis by using diplomatic and non-military means.

Earlier in July, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov welcomed the Vienna nuclear agreement between Iran and Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plush Germany), and underlined the deal's fruitfulness for the reinvigoration of regional and international security.
