14 Apr 2016 - 9:09

Tehran, April 13, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that the Muslim World is suffering from terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence.

President Rouhani made the remarks in a press conference at Mehrabad international airport prior to leaving Tehran for Istanbul.

The motto of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the eleventh government in particular in international relations is 'a world free from violence and extremism', President Rouhani said.

Regretfully, some countries are now invading others making up for main concerns of the OIC Leaders, he said.

OIC spares no efforts to bolster unity and solidarity in the Muslim World, he said.

OIC has always called for protecting the legitimate rights of oppressed Palestinian nation and restoring their rights, he said.

By the time the countries fail to broaden cooperation in fight with terrorism, the issue of extremism and terrorism will be remain unsolved, he said.

Iran has always backed those seeking help from Iran in fight against terrorism such as Iraq and Syria and it is expected to witness concrete measures in fight with terrorism at the OIC Summit of Leaders .

It is expected that relations between Iran and Turkey will be expanded mainly after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and removal of unfair sanctions, he said.

On the third day of his visit to Turkey, President Rouhani is to discuss expansion of mutual relations and cooperation along with regional developments with Turkish officials.
