Daesh terrorists were killed after attempting to enter Iran.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Daesh terrorists have been making attempts to enter Iran, Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said Monday.

"In February-March, IS militants entered Iran, two terrorists that had suicide belts were immediately killed by the ground troops," Pourdastan was quoted as saying by the Tasnim news agency.

He did not specify what parts of the country the terrorists entered but noted that the country's borders were safe at the moment.

Daesh group, which is banned in many countries including Russia, is mainly active in Syria and Iraq, where it has seized large areas. It also claimed responsibility for a number of terrorist attacks in Europe, including the November attacks in Paris and the recent suicide bombings in Brussels.
