Iranologist heralds bright prospects for Iran-Russia cooperation

Moscow, April 6, IRNA – Russian Iranologist Herand Voskanian said on Wednesday that Iran and Russia are on the path to strategic cooperation with bright prospects.


Voskanian, also a lexicographer, told IRNA that the year 2015 was successful for Iran-Russia ties and the two countries have moved on the path of strategic cooperation.

The Iranian and Russian officials were determined to promote strategic ties and they took serious steps including convention of joint economic commission and exchange of visits by the two countries' economy and defense ministers, he said.

The Russian author said that signing major deals in significant fields of economy, customs and visa facilities will undoubtedly contribute to expansion of bilateral ties.
Hailing the two countries' capacities in various fields, Voskanian called for their optimal use.

He said that given the agreements made in various fields such as economy and energy, especially construction of nuclear power plants, mutual relations will further develop.
Iran boasts of rich culture and millennia-old civilization and Russia is keen on enhanced ties with Iran, he said.
