7 Mar 2016 - 17:21

Vienna, March 7, IRNA – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the non-deviation of Iran’s nuclear program of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.

In its first report since adoption of the resolution, the international nuclear watchdog said it has found no signs of deviation from its peaceful nuclear program.

The IAEA Director General Yukia Amano said in the report that the agency has urged the United Nations Security Council and Board of Governors to monitor and verify Iran’s nuclear activities since January 1 when it started implementing the additional protocol.

The report said implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has started, stating that Iran has to comply with all of its commitments in a course of few years.

He said the IAEA is to monitor and verify Iran’s performance and hand reports to the Board of Governors and the UNSC.

Amano said his organization will compile its reports to the UNSC while taking into consideration all details and realities.

According to the IAEA chief, the body has set up an office in Iran since the beginning of March 2016 to verify Iran protocols.
