Bin Alawi: Iran visit to serve mutual interests

Tehran, Feb 20, IRNA – Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf Bin Alawi said on Saturday he and his accompanying delegation have come to Iran with a resolute will and full determination; not against any 3rd party, and fully aimed at securing both countries' interests.


Bin Alawi who was speaking in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad-Javad Zarif referred to the brotherly relations between Iran and Oman, reiterating that such relations exist both at personal and at diplomatic levels, and the two countries officials' visits are merely aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation.

'The Omani delegation's visit is being made under such conditions that the illegitimate anti-Iranian international sanctions have terminated and we are here with a resolute will and full determination for boosting bilateral cooperation in the framework of brotherly relations,' he added.
Bin Akawi also said that a new horizon of bilateral ties has emerged in which comprehensive relations in all levels and every field, including economic cooperation, investments, cultural, scientific and every other possible field that could be beneficial for the two neighboring nations and governments will be boosted.

He said that Oman is not alone in its enthusiasm for boosting ties with Iran as the whole world seems to have such a desire and Oman does not wish to fall behind in that international race.

The Omani top diplomat meanwhile expressed that closer relations between Tehran and Muscat will contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in the volatile Middle East region.
