Tehran, Jan 23, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani at a ceremony here on Saturday morning welcomed officially his visiting Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.


The Chinese president heading a high-ranking eco-political delegation arrived in Tehran on Friday night.

After the welcoming ceremony, the two presidents started mutual talks.

After the talks, the two will discuss different bilateral issues in the presence of the two sides' delegations.

The Chinese president, who is now in Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, will meet Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani later in the day.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will also receive the Chinese president.

Jinping's Tehran visit takes place after 14 years when the then Chinese president Jiang Zemin flew to Iran.
