Rouhani: Resistance Economy will be Iran's strategy in post-sanction era

17 Jan 2016 - 12:54

Tehran, Jan 17, IRNA – In a message released on occasion of implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JAPOA), on Sunday, President Rouhani said Resistance Economy will be Iran's strategy in post sanction.

Back in 2014, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in a proclamation outlined a series of general policies called Resistance Economy, to boost Iran’s economy and lower its vulnerabilities.

The President also urged youth to use the post-sanctions era as an opportunity for county's development.

Iranian nation has extended hand of friendship towards the globe and has opened a new chapter in relations with the world by passing hostilities, suspicions and conspiracies, he said.

The President underlined that after the implementation of JCPOA, Iran's nuclear file was de-securitisized and oppressive resolutions against Iran were removed.

According to the JCPOA, the international community recognized Iran's nuclear rights and Iran's economy returned to the orbit of global economy, he added.

Praising the significant role of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's decree on prohibition of nuclear weapons in resolution of Iran's nuclear issue, Rouhani thanked nations' support and the nuclear scientists and the Foreign Ministry diplomats for their longstanding efforts.

He called Resistance Economy as Iran's national strategy during the post-sanction era, adding that joining the global economy will be part of our foreign policy.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a report on Saturday, confirming that Iran honored commitments to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Following the IAEA statement, Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini read a joint statement on implementation of the JCPOA and removal of anti-Iran sanctions on Saturday night.

Iran and the P5+1 - the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany - finalized the text of the JCPOA in Vienna in July 2015.

Under the JCPOA, limits are put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related economic and financial bans against the Islamic Republic.
