Afghanistan calls for Iran’s media assistance: Afghan official

January 16, The Iran Project – Afghanistan’s deputy minister of information and culture has called for Iran’s media assistance in different fields, referring to the extensive cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking to a reporter on Saturday, Afghanistan’s deputy minister of information and culture, Mozhgan Mostafavi, asked for Iran’s media assistance in different fields.

Mostafavi also asked for exchanging the news and information between the media of Iran and Afghanistan and holding joint cultural week between the two countries.

Iran and Afghanistan culture ministers agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation for the exchange of news and information, but it has not been implemented yet, she added.

Saying that Afghanistan’s culture ministry has proposed to open the office of Kabul’s state news agency BNA in five neighboring countries, she asked Iran to provide a suitable place for BNA to open an office in Tehran.

Elsewhere in her remarks, Afghan’s official said that BNA doesn’t have enough equipment and professional human resources and Iran can help it to improve equipment, and learn how to use printing and publishing systems.
