Zarif: Some countries take steps contrary to Muslim Ummah interests

Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that a number of countries by taking wrong tactics are ignoring existing realities in regional, social and political structure and they take steps contrary to Islamic Ummah interests' spirit.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Sunday, Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Secretary General of Lebanese Hizbollah Sheikh Naeim Qassem.

Referring to the Islamic Resistance and Hizbollah position in regional development, Zarif said that Lebanese Hezbollah approaches is by maintaining authority and unity among Lebanese nation in direction of the nation's benefit.

By explaining the latest development in Lebanon and Syria and the Hizbollah approaches in confrontation with conspiracies of the Zionist regime, Sheikh Naeim Qassem said that we have always appreciated Iran's strategies, which have always been in direction of Lebanese interests and benefits and bravery resistance against conspiracies of the Zionist regime, and added that Iran by taking wise approaches and by its sharp sights is considering all events in international and regional arena.

The sheikh expressed hope that all Ulema and politicians and deep thinkers of Islamic states may overcome the problems under the auspices of the Islamic Unity Conference outcomes.

The 29th International Islamic Unity Conference kicked off here on Sunday at the presence of 300 foreign guests from 70 world countries.

On the sidelines of the conference, Sheikh Naeim Qassem said that one of the ways to fight Takfiri groups is holding such meeting, and added for this mobility of Muslim Ulema in direction of strengthening cooperation in the field of resistance is necessary.
